Kambidima Wotela is a demography and population studies scholar with degrees from notable institutions. Wotela completed his doctorate at the University of Cape Town, where he focused on fertility differentials in Zambia. He has been awarded several prestigious scholarships and fellowships, including the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation fellowship and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation scholarship. Currently, he serves as an associate professor of public policy and governance at the University of the Witwatersrand’s School of Governance in South Africa, where he teaches systems thinking, monitoring and evaluation, and research and analytical methods. One of his key research areas involves enhancing student research skills and writing techniques, a pursuit that earned him the 2019 Postgraduate Research Supervisor of the Year award in the Faculty of Commerce, Law, and Management. Beyond academia, Wotela has utilised his expertise across various countries, mainly in designing interventions and developing monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
