Abstract

Author information

As researchers, we often talk about the future; of science, technology, and society.

One of the most impactful ways to shape that future is through supporting the people who will define it.

The AI, Computer Science and Robotics Technology journal is proud to announce the upcoming launch of Rising Stars 2025—an initiative dedicated to highlighting and supporting early-career researchers through the principles and practices of Open Science.

Early-career researchers bring fresh energy, original thinking, and bold ideas that move fields forward. Their work deserves space to grow, to be heard, and to connect with mentors, peers, and global audiences. That’s what Rising Stars 2025 is all about.

Our goal is to create more than just a publishing opportunity for young scientists. We are designing Rising Stars 2025 to open doors and provide meaningful visibility in this rapidly evolving research and publishing landscape. Selected participants will benefit from:

Publication in ACRT with full Article Processing Charge (APC) waivers

Visibility beyond the published paper through interviews, feature stories, and spotlight campaigns.

Mentorship and guidance from senior researchers invested in open science and future talent.

Support for open practices, with an emphasis on reproducibility and FAIR data sharing.

The initiative launch and submission period will be happening soon. Full details will be announced via the journal website and communication channels. In the meantime, we encourage early-career researchers to prepare their manuscripts and consider how they can incorporate open data into their work.

If you’re a PhD student, postdoc, or just starting out as a faculty member, you’ll be able to submit your full research paper once the call for submissions opens. A selection of papers will be published in a special Rising Stars issue within the current volume of ACRT.

We can’t wait to see the future take shape through your ideas.

Warm regards,
